°îÈ¼º/Kok, Wha-Sung
Abstract
Sixty-one cases of allergic purpura of children in Korea were analyzed referring to clinical manifestations, eighteen of these were admitted to the Pediatric Department of Han-gang Sacred Heart Hospital, School of Medicine, Chung-ang University during a period of 3 years and 2 months from January, 1972 through March, 1975 and fourty-three of these were reported by Kim (Ki-Joon) et al. and Kim (ghee Woo) et al. in Korea.
The results were seen as follows, as for the age at the onset of allergic purpura, sex and seasonal distributions, and clinical manifestations such as skin lesions, abdominal pain, joint pain and renal involvement.
1. The frequency of the age at the onset of allergic purpura was 67.2% from 2 years to 8 years, and 27.9% from 6 years and 8 years. Male children were relatively predominant in sex incidence at the ratio of 1.7 : L
2. Seasonal distribution was seen as 50% in spring, 27.2% in autumn, 18.7% in winter and 4.2% in summer.
3. Skin lesions were noted in 82% of those reviewed, but not essentially in all cases.
4. 6& 9% of those studied complained of abdominal pain and 52.5% joint pain and swelling, that was contrary to the study of cases of other countries in order of frequency.
5. Renal involvement was 31. 1% of these cases, which was nearly same as that of cases of other countries.
